The Community Dance Described
A description of the evening activities follows:
Dance leader, Mike Haworth, first coaches the group through a small number of square dance calls. This same core set of calls are reviewed and practiced to begin each Monday's dance.
These few core calls are readily learned. They are a baseline set of figures from which Mike can choreograph many easily performed, fun dances.
During the evening a few additional calls, beyond the core set, may be introduced. These few additional calls are selected to enhance that evening's dance enjoyment.
The core set of calls are the same from one event to the next. The additional calls vary from week to week. Those dancers who attend frequently can expect a modest degree of progression in their dancing.
Note that the Community Dance is a social recreation event and not considered to be a class.
